My Two Cents...

I'm learning to make Apps Weekly Better! π¨βπ
Yes people... I don't know what the heck I'm doing. I'm totally winging this newsletter.
I think you know that.
I use Curated.co to make this newsletter and they are doing a weeklong "fest" of talks this week.
So I stuck my head in to listen to people that know more than me about all this newsletter stuff.
If you subscribed because I met you at the Fest... Welcome fellow APPthusiasts! I left you a little gift in the "How To" section.
If you've been here a while... thanks for sticking around and thanks for your encouragement to continue making this better for you!
And with that...Let's get to the Apps!
News Bytes

Google is shutting down its mobile Shopping app... BYEEEEE! π
Goodbye Google shopping... I donβt think youβll be that missed.
You can still do everything by typing into Google search and then tapping the "shopping" tab.
But if you use the app... heads up, it's going away soon!

Text-Based Mental Health Therapy-App. Is this a gift... or not?
I skimmed this article during a bus-ride.
Basically it gets into a "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".
Text-based therapy apps like Better Help continue to grow rapidly. Is this possible to even support people well at-scale?
Is this a money grab or are people getting the help they are hoping for?
If you saw an ad for BetterHelp, it wouldn't be surprising. The ad dollars are absolutely flowing into this niche.
If you ever pondered for a few seconds whether you'd like to give text-based therapy a go, you might want to skim this first.
My App Recommendation

Make your Mac's Battery Meter... a friend!?!?
Itβs like the default battery indicator in your menu bar, but cute.
It's free and adorable and takes 2 seconds to have. I hid my default battery icon while leaving the low battery alerts on and now have this little battery buddy letting me know with a smile or frown if we're good and juiced up for the days computing.
CUTE!

Regain control back on your Mac MenuBar
My Mac's MenuBar has gotten a bit insane.
This app let's you hide as much or as little of those icons as you want.
Then with 1 tap, it unhides them. It's such a joy honestly.

Documents by Readdle is like the Finder App on Speed!
I'm just experimenting with this tool but Readdle feels like the "Super Finder App" for my Mac.
It does a lot of the same tings my Mac already does but it does them with a nice user-experience.
From PDF annotating, to watching movies, and even going on the internet to download files right inside its built-in browser, I like their approach to bringing all this into an all-in-one modern feel.
It's pretty neat from my early days glance.
If I become a power-user, I'll share some tips in a future issue.
How To...

Curated.co newsletter creators... Here's the iOS Shortcut you'll LOVE! β€οΈ
This is awesome. Now you can share links directly from Safari and other apps right into Curated so you can add them to your newsletter.
I've used it for a day and already find it handy! Thanks CURATED!
And Lastly...

1 Last Thing... I'm on SPOTIFY! I made a daily Podcast!
It's called Walk With Wade and every weekday, I take a morning walk and chat with you.
Currently we're walking and talking through this whole full-time traveler Digital Nomad thing I've been doing the last 3 years.
If you enjoy the words written by me, you'll gush over hearing this incredible voice in your ears every day.
